Had a lovely relaxing stay in the cottage which was well equipped, clean and cosy. Hosts are friendly and very knowledgeable on the local area. Grounds are well kept and offer wonderful views. Great base for exploring. Have already recommended to family and friends. Hope to revisit in the future.

Meadows Edge

Had a wonderful stay, Gail and Simon were fabulous hosts, very knowledgeable and helpful . The location is great for exploring Cornwall, and loved watching the sunsets and the wildlife from the balcony. The accommodation is excellent, very clean and extremely well equipped, lovely comfy bed. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and will definitely be back. Welcome pack a lovely touch.

What can I say other than complete perfection! From the moment we got there to the moment we left everything was just beyond perfect! Gail and Simon are wonderful hosts and nothing was too much! On arrival we were greeted by them along with a thoughtful welcome gift. The cottage is out of this world with the most breathtaking views. We will definitely be returning next year. Feel so lucky to have found such a gem of a place.

Babes Cottage

JUNE 2023: Spent yet another wonderful two weeks at the very best accommodation in Cornwall. As always the cottage was spotlessly clean in surroundings that are perfect to end a busy day. Mac the dog fully enjoyed his stay at his very favourite place and we both relished the peace and quiet to relax in. Many thanks again to our wonderful hosts Simon and Gail and we must say it was so nice seeing you both and Buddy relax (for a change) at the Miners Arms on our last night. Hopefully be back in 2024, as lets face it why accept second best elsewhere!! Malc & Penny xx

23rd of dec to 26th dec
We had such a lovely stay its are first time in babes cottage and are first time away for Christmas we was blow away by how amazing the views were and the in side of the cottage it was very clean and it had everything you would want
The only down side was we had to leave a day early duo to how uncomfortable the bed was I never slept the whole
Of the trip but we really enjoyed the cottage and we had a great time

Sorry you didn't get on with the bed. FWIW the matress was a Best Buy from Which? (the Consumers' Association) and a number of previous guests have commented on its comfort. I guess that not everyone gets on with all matresses. If you had told us about the problem during your stay (rather than as you were leaving) we would have been able to do something about it.
Pleased that you liked everythiong else about the cottage.

SEPT 2022: Well after the most eventful of stays at our favourite Babes Cottage, a quick thanks to the very best hosts in Cornwall. From a blow out on top of the coast road at Porthtowan, torrential rain on our second week and to a nine-hour journey home due to an accident and motorway closure, we still would not have missed our visit. Peace and tranquillity in the spotless surroundings of Babes, it was yet again a delight to holiday in. It was also great to treat out hardworking hosts for lunch as a thank you for making sure our many years of staying at Caerkief always brilliant. If you are looking for a quiet and wonderful cottage in delightful surroundings with everything you could possibly need, then Gail & Simon will make sure you and your dogs stay will be memorable. Babes Cottage

MAY/JUNE 2022: Back from another two-week visit to the wonderful Caertkief Cottages where we stayed in 'Babes' yet again. Simon and Gail as usual supplied the perfect getaway where you will need for nothing as everything is waiting for your arrival, and as always spotlessly clean. From the Wrens nest at our cottage entrance to the newborn baby Owls outside, it really is a wonderful place to stay and relax after your hectic visits to one of the many beaches that are close=by. Mac our dog did not want to leave and sulked all the way home so if you have a pet then this is the place to stay. Many thanks to the perfect hosts yet again and see you at the end of August when we return! Malc, Penny & Mac xx

This cottage was absolutely super! We had everything we needed, it was really well set up in the house and in the garden. Our pup loved the garden he didn’t want to leave it. The location is a brilliant base for exploring Cornwall. Our next trip to Cornwall we plan to come back to these cottages. And hope to bring family and friends with us!

SEPT 2021: Just returned from a wonderful fortnight in Babes Cottage, and as usual Simon & Gail were the perfect hosts! This time we had our Daughter and Granddaughter come for the second week and they immediately fell in love with this superb place to relax and enjoy a holiday. Everything you need for your hols including the carefully thought out items to take to the beach too! Thank you both for making our family so welcome and Millie loved feeding your chickens and guinea pigs! If you are thinking about a Cornwall break, don't look further than this haven of tranquility. With Perranporth 2 miles, Holywell Bay 4 miles, Crantock 5miles and St Agnes 5miles away you are surrounded by some of the best beaches in the UK. Thanks both and see you again in May 2022...can't wait! Malc & Penny xx

This is our second stay at Hollies Cottage, and we've already booked our third stay at Caerkief Cottages.

Our stay was just perfect, and we went home so relaxed. Lovely accommodation, with a great outdoor space and beautiful views. Everything you need has been thought about by the hosts - and if you do need anything then they are onsite and really fast to respond.

We love the outdoor space. Great for our dog to enjoy, and the kids made use of pretty much all the equipment they provided - playing football, cricket, tennis etc. And in the evenings we used the chimenea and the wood they provided to sit outside, light a fire and enjoy the sunset. Perfect way to chill after a busy day walking or on the beach.

It feels like you are deep into the countryside, but you are still really close to the beach. We cycled down to Perranporth beach in under 15 minutes, taking a lovely country path. Location is prefect for Perranporth, but St Agnes is also very close by, which is lovely.

We're already looking forward to our return trip.

Just returned from a week in the fantastic Look Out apartment, it was our first time at Caerkief we were delighted with the 5 star accommodation. Gail and Simon as the other comments say are the perfect hosts. The 2 acres of fields and and surrounds just encouraged your mind to switch off. We will certainly be going again and walking a bit more, my family headed for the beach and so did I. I would like to recommend 2 places that we went and the food was lovely, The Miners Arms in Mithian, evening meal and Driftwood Spar St Agnes, lunch.

This was our first stay in Hollie cottage and we will definitely book again. The cottage had everything we needed and more ! Very convenient to access the whole of Cornwall . The little touches of environmentally friendly cleaning and laundry products were an added bonus. The cottage was spotlessly clean and covid safe. Hosts on-site if needed and very helpful. We can’t recommend this cottage and all it’s facilities enough.

Just returned from yet another fantastic fortnight at our favourite place of tranquility. The new Lookout Apartment has everything you could ever possibly need for your stay. Simon & Gail have a remarkable record for attention to detail, and in these awful Covid times they leave nothing to be desired to make your holiday safe and secure. Stayed many times now at Caerkief Cottages and we have sampled all the accomodation there, and we can honestly say this is Cornwalls truly a hidden gem for a staycation!! Stayed 29th Aug-5th Sep. Had the most amazing stay in the new lookout apartment. Gail & Simon are fabulous hosts! The attention to detail is impeccable! Greeted by a lovely welcome basket when we arrived with local tea, apple juice, bread, milk etc! You have a file in the apartment which is very detailed on anything you need to know which is great! The apartment itself of amazing! It exceeded expectations to be honest. Again, it has everything you could need! Well equipped kitchen, beautiful bedroom and bathroom, such a gorgeous interior. The view from the apartment is also stunning. Your looking over the 2acres of field & surroundings, it is truely special. We seen the most amazing sunset whilst we were there & it was so peaceful! There’s benches outside for your use, log burners and a bbq! Douglas our pup thoroughly enjoyed running round everyday, especially with his new friend from the apartment next door! We honestly can’t rate this place high enough! We will definitely be back next year! Thankyou so much for a wonderful stay! Simon, Rachel & Douglas xx

Just returned from yet another fantastic 2 weeks at Caerkief Cottages with Gail & Simon playing the fantastic hosts as usual. This time for the first time we stayed in one of the two new classy apartments now open for 2020 and they have done a fantastic job in making sure you have everything you could possibly need for your holiday. Spotlessly clean and overlooking the two-acres of field, which as ever our dog Mac took full advantage of. Perfect retreat for a couple and if you have a dog the it is heaven for them. The personal touches and the friendliness make this the place to rest in peace after a hectic day at the beach. We are back again in September and cannot wait! Just returned from a fantastic week at Hollies Cottage which is truly a hidden gem and perfect for a couple with their dog! Spotlessly clean and everything you need to enjoy your stay in peace and tranquility, yet just over 2 miles from the beech.
Gail and Simon are superb hosts with your sole enjoyment their target and supply just about everything you could wish for! Two acres of fun for the dog in safe surroundings really made 'Mac' our dogs holiday.

A nice personal touch to be met by Simon and Gail on arrival. The cottage [Babes] itself is outstanding much larger on the inside than pictures show. Gorgeously decorated and furnished. The welcome hamper provided by Simon and Gail again a lovely personal touch. Very comfortable stay. We came for surf and local beaches Perranporth and Watergate Bay provided great long sunshine days on the beach.
Coming back to shower and settle down for the evening and enjoy the sunset from the gazebo with a glass or three and a chimena was bliss.
Really felt like we had a holiday. Have been holidaying in Cornwall for many years now and Babes Cottage is right up there as one of the best.
We can totally recommend staying at Babes Cottage in fact it simply is a must.

We stayed in Hollies cottage for two weeks in May, absolute bliss!! The cottage itself has everything you need and is lovely. Gail and Simon are excellent hosts with a great sense of humor and an eye for detail. They are very attentive and always there for you if you need anything whasoever. The surroundings (just about anywhere you look in Cornwall) are stunning and everyone is extremely friendly. We are not much of return visitors as the world is just simply too big but we will absolutely make an exception for Cornwall and especially for Gail and Simon. Well done guys ;-)

We spent a week in Hollies Cottage with our lurcher and had a wonderful time. Located up a tiny track, the cottages are in such a peaceful and rural location yet still handy for the main road to get out and about. The large field is fantastic for the dog with a BBQ and chimenea, all free to use with fuel provided.
Hollies cottage has a wonderful balcony to enjoy the view and a glass of wine in the sun. Sadly the weather wasn't that great for us but the cottage was a fantastic base for us to go out walking, both from the cottage to get to the shop in Goonhavern (15 min walk the back-way) and by driving out to walk coastal paths especially around Perranporth, St. Agnes, Holywell Bay and Crantock. Hollies Cottage is an upside down cottage so you walk up the steps outside to enter the living room on the second floor which is then open plan to the kitchen diner. There are stairs leading down to the bathroom and bedroom, which has been newly decorated. All spotlessly clean and equipped with everything we needed for our week. We love that it's dog friendly and brought our own blanket throws with us so that our lurcher could lounge on the sofa.
Gail and Simon were there to welcome us with Buddy the dog and were lovely and friendly. We didn't really see them much as we were out and about most of the time but they were very approachable. We loved the wildlife, hearing owls at night and watching the nesting swallows swooping into their nests on the cottage next door. This was our first time at Hollies and will definitely be returning as we love the area and are thrilled to find a nice cottage to make our base in the future.

This was our fifth time visiting, we have stayed in both cottages and received our usual welcome from Gail, Simon and Buddy. The accommodation as always was prepared ready for our arrival to a very high standard and is a perfect location for a relaxing break providing a real home from home where every need is catered for within the cottage. We enjoyed excellent weather which allowed us to walk our dogs through the lanes and fields surrounding the farm along with the usual vast sands of Perranporth beach. Gail and Simon ensure that you feel welcome and comfortable and are always on hand should you need any advice, help or even just a chat about dogs !!! The location of Caerkeif Cottages is close enough to allow you full use of the beach and experience the hustle and bustle of Perranporth but far enough out of town to be quiet and relaxing. It is very easy to travel to anywhere in Cornwall from the site but ensure you leave plenty of time to relax and enjoy the tranquility that is a way of life on Caerkeif Farm. We will definitely be visiting again and would give the accommodation, service and facilities on site five stars out of five.

Hervorragende ruhige Lage, sehr Schönes Ferienhaus, sehr nette Vermieter. Was will man mehr. Zudem sehr zentral in Süd-West Cornwall gelegen und somit sind die schönsten Ziele schnell zu errreichen. Sehr zu empfehlende Unterkunft.

Peaceful and relaxing break.
We spent a week here in September and really enjoyed it. The cottage was very clean and well equipped, the welcome basket on arrival was a lovely treat. The rooms were basically finished but comfortable. We had a few chats with the friendly owners who were keen to make sure we had everything we needed. The cottage is very close to the beach, we walked it one day on the lovely pathways around the area. We got lucky with the weather but would have still had a great time even if if hadn't. The pub in Bolingey is well worth a visit! We would definitely come back again.

Superbly clean well equipped self catering cottage. Owners live on site and are the perfect neighbours. There if needed but allow you to enjoy your holiday. Ideal for walking or driving breaks or just sitting in the rather large garden area enjoying the BBQ or peaceful surroundings. We could not fault this cottage and have rebooked this year.
